In order to meet daily magnesium requirements, the German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends a daily intake of 300 to 350 mg of magnesium for adults, depending on gender. Poor eating habits (such as diets or fast food) and magnesium loss due to industrial food processing and preparation may prevent us from getting enough magnesium. In certain phases of life, such as pregnancy and breastfeeding, diabetes, stress or exercise, magnesium requirements may be higher.
