Specific information about website

Use of data
When you access our website, you transfer data to our web server via your internet browser. This transfer is necessary for technical reasons. The following data is recorded for communication between your internet browser and our web server while they are connected:
-    Date and time of request
-    Name of requested file
-    Page from which the file was requested
-    Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
-    Web browser and operating system used
-    Full IP address of requesting computer
-    Volume of data transferred
For technical security reasons, and in particular for protection against attempts to hack our web server, we store this data for a short period. This data does not allow us to make any inferences about individual persons. After a maximum of seven days, the data is anonymised by abbreviating the IP address to the domain level, such that it is no longer possible to connect the data to an individual user. Aside from this, the data is processed in anonymised form for statistical purposes; however, it is not compared with other databases or forwarded to third parties, not even in excerpted form.

Use of DocCheck
For this website, we allow you to log in with DocCheck user data. DocCheck is a service provided by DocCheck Community GmbH, Vogelsanger Strasse 66, 50823 Cologne, Germany (“DocCheck”). User name and password are verified directly on the DocCheck servers. When using DocCheck, the agreements that exist between you and DocCheck apply.
For the above purpose, we use cookies from DocCheck: “Doccheck_user_id”: This cookie enables a single-sign-on for all DocCheck log-ins and remains in place for a session. The “Doccheck_scu_data” cookie is designed to provide suitable content based on pseudonymised characteristics (e.g. profession, country, language). It has a lifetime of 1 year. As part of DocCheck password protection, DocCheck collects – based on our website, which integrates the log-in into the website by means of embedding or iFrame – the user’s protocol data (IP address, access date, access time, referrer URL, information about hardware and software used – e.g. browser characteristics, device information such as resolution). This data shall not be used to make inferences about individual persons, but instead serves to ensure that the pages or iFrame contents are displayed correctly and/or to ensure the security of DocCheck services. In addition, some page elements on our website also require identification of the accessing web browser when a user visits a new page within our website.

Use of emetriq with consent of website visitors
Technologies from emetriq GmbH (www.emetriq.com)

are used on this website to collect and store data in anonymised form for marketing and optimisation purposes. emetriq does its utmost to preserve the anonymity of the data provided to it, i.e. emetriq does not store any IP addresses or personal data (names, addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth) pursuant to §3 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz). emetriq records information about the browsing behaviour of internet users who are unknown to it, e.g. which pages or products were viewed in the shops operated by our cooperation partners. emetriq assigns to the stored information an anonymous, multiple-digit ID number, which is stored in a cookie on the user’s computer and does not allow any inferences to be made about the user’s identity. Furthermore, the data of at least 30 users is pooled together, rendering it impossible to identify individuals. Even were it to combine the stored information, emetriq would not be able to identify an individual person.

You have the option of deactivating behaviour-based online advertising from emetriq (opt out): Click here and deactivate. Opting out from emetriq does not prevent such advertising being displayed.

Use of Facebook pixel with consent of website visitors
On the basis of your consent, we use the Facebook pixel from Meta on our website. To this end, we have implemented a code on our website. The Facebook pixel is an excerpt of JavaScript code that loads a collection of functions whereby Facebook can track your user actions insofar as you have arrived on our website via Facebook ads. If you purchase a product on our website, for example, the Facebook pixel is triggered and stores your actions on our website in one or several cookies. These cookies enable Facebook to compare your user data (customer data such as IP address, user ID) with your Facebook account data. Facebook then deletes this data. For us, the collected data is anonymous and cannot be viewed; it can be used only in the context of advertisement placement. If you are a Facebook user and are logged in to Facebook, your visit to our website will be automatically ascribed to your Facebook user account.

We want to show our services and products only to people who are actually interested in them. By using Facebook pixel, we can better tailor our advertising to your preferences and interests. In this way, Facebook users are shown suitable advertisements (provided that they have consented to personalised advertising). Furthermore, Facebook uses the collected data for analytical purposes and its own advertisements.

If you would like to know more about data protection at Facebook, we recommend that you consult the company’s own data guidelines at: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

Use of Pinterest with consent of website visitors
Our website uses the conversion tracking technology of the social network Pinterest (Pinterest Europe Ltd., Palmerston House, 2nd Floor, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, Ireland). When visitors to our website have already displayed interest in our content/offerings and are Pinterest members, this technology enables us to show such users relevant advertisements and offers on Pinterest. To this end, we integrate a conversion tracking pixel from Pinterest on our web pages, via which Pinterest is notified that you have visited our website and what parts of our range have interested you. For example, if you have looked at subscriptions on our website, you might be shown an advert for our subscriptions on Pinterest.
You can disable data collection for the purpose of displaying interest-based advertising on Pinterest at any time in your Pinterest account settings at https://www.pinterest.de/settings (choose “Edit personalization settings” and then “Use partner info to improve which recommendations and ads you see on Pinterest”) or at  https://help.pinterest.com/de/article/personalization-and-data#info-ad (disable the tick box under “Turn off personalization”).

Use of Google Ads and remarketing with consent of website visitors
On the basis of the consent of website visitors, this website uses Google Ads conversion tracking, a web analytics service from Google Ireland Limited (“Google”). Google Ads conversion tracking uses cookies, which are stored on your computer and allow your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored there. Google might also transfer this information to third parties, provided that this is legally permitted and insofar as third parties process this data on behalf of Google.

We use the remarketing function within the Google Ads service. The remarketing function allows us to present our website users with advertisements based on their interests on other websites within the Google advertiser network (in Google Search or on YouTube, in Google Ads or on other websites). To this end, user interaction on our website is analysed – for example, which offers a user has shown interest in – so that we can display targeted advertising to users on other sites even after they have left our website. To do this, Google saves cookies on the devices of users who visit certain Google services or websites in the Google Display Network. It is via these cookies that the visits of these users are recorded. The cookies are used to uniquely identify a web browser on a certain device and not to identify a person.
Cookies used: Type C.
